As the culprits have been using Rhys’s trucks to transport said meat, this is the episode where Gwen’s hubby-to-be finds out what everybody else in Cardiff already knows: that she works for Torchwood. In truth, Meat would be worth it for the epic barney he and Gwen have when she ‘fesses up. The affianced couple display the kind of roaring Welsh passion that wouldn’t be out of place in Cardiff Arms Park!

Elsewhere, after last week’s four-day romance with Tommy the Tommy, Tosh is back to pining after Owen again! The Torchwood team is back to its usual, fairly inept self and we get one of those moody, silly slo-mos when Rhys clocks Gwen getting out of the Torchwood SUV. On the plus side, Jack has a couple of genuinely laugh-out-loud lines, but what can I say — I’m easily pleased?

Meat is by no means a great episode, but there’s plenty of good stuff here to keep you interested, much of it involving Rhys’s impromptu involvement in Torchwood business.
