There’s nothing in the fourteenth season for me that quite matches meeting Davros or the previous season’s trip to Karn or battle with killer plants, but at the same time there isn’t a duffer either. Whether it’s been a visit to Portmeirion, saying goodbye to Sarah-Jane, a head-trip in the matrix, meeting Leela, art Deco robots or battling Chinese stage magicians, there’s been something for everyone here.
For many this is Doctor Who at its absolute peak and on the strength of Tom Baker’s first three seasons in the role, it’s a sentiment that’s hard to disagree with.
Nevertheless, only fourteen years into, at the time of writing, a thirty-six series’ run, I’ll defer the judgment for the time being.
