N.B. there might (or might not) be spoilers in this article!
Truncated by the decision to hold back Terror of the Zygons and move the show to an autumn time slot and ending somewhat abruptly with the disappointing Revenge of the Cybermen, the twelfth season of Doctor Who is nevertheless a strong start to the Fourth Doctor’s adventures.
Tom Baker in particular is a revelation: part disarmingly witty man-of-action, part unpredictable (and literally) wide-eyed traveller. From his earliest moments in Robot his performance has been mesmerising and it’s not hard to see why he was such an instant success with the public.

Genesis of the Daleks: Part Two
Whilst retaining elements of Doctor Who‘s past – with stories featuring UNIT, Sontarans, Daleks and Cybermen – there’s been enough of the new in the season, especially in the more horrific elements of The Ark in Space, The Sontaran Experiment and Genesis of the Daleks to suggest that Philip Hinchcliffe and Robert Holmes had quickly found their feet and that Doctor Who had once again survived another potentially tricky transition.
In a way, I should be more surprised that I’m surprised by this!
"My favourite Fourth Doctor story so far is Genesis of the Daleks."
